Step into Abyssinia Hair & Beauty Clinic, and you will immediately notice the premium products lining our shelves. From clinical skincare formulations to specialized trichology and hair restoration treatments, we refuse to compromise on quality for our paying customers. We believe excellence is a standard, not an option.
But a question arose as we welcomed our latest cohort of passionate students to our non-profit school platform: Why should a student’s training look any different from a professional service?
The Reality Behind Floor Hours

To become a licensed professional, the students must complete 1,600 rigorous hours of training. A massive chunk of that time is spent on the clinic floor, mastering complex techniques like intricate braiding, precise chemical applications, and custom styling.
Unfortunately, high-quality products come with rising operational costs. For a non-profit academy, providing top-tier, clinic-grade products for every single student service can become a heavy financial burden. Nonetheless, at Abyssinia Beauty Clinic, we refuse to use lower-grade product lines for student practice.
We don't believe in using less than the best, and we know that learning on premium products positively impacts how a student understands hair structure, product chemistry, and client care.
Dedicated Students Deserve Dedicated Tools

Our current Class of 2027 student body is demonstrating a level of passion that inspires us daily. They travel immense distances every single morning to stay on track with their theory classes in the mornings, and start their floor hours in the afternoons every day. Despite these long commutes, they have remained completely consistent, maintaining satisfactory academic progress in their theory and practical hours.
They are doing their part. Now, we want to do ours.
Bridging the Gap: How You Can Help
To keep these high-end resources in our students' hands without passing the cost onto them, we are inviting our wonderful community and local Renton businesses to step in.
We are running a community supply drive where you can support a student's journey directly. You can drop off general operational items like cleaning supplies and laundry detergent to help maintain our clinical sanitation standards, or you can buy a premium product straight from our shelves to donate directly to the student kits.
By ensuring our students have access to the absolute best tools from day one, we aren't just teaching them how to do hair and beauty treatments; we are training them to be elite salon owners, clinic managers, and future industry leaders.
Want to support the drive or see our students in action? Visit us at 203 S Second St, Renton, WA, or give us a call at (425) 429-8241 to find out how you can contribute!
